Look no further, guys. You asked: What is the warmest Carhartt coat? We answered! Murdoch’s votes for the… drum roll please… J133 Carhartt Men’s Extremes Active Jac with Arctic-Quilt lining: This coat is a winner. In addition to featuring one of Carhartt’s warmest insulation linings, it’s water-repellent, blocks wind, has ribbed cuffs and waistbands to keep body warmth inside, and has an attached hood.
There are two other great options that come in a close second and third place:
- C003 Carhartt Men’s Duck Traditional Coat also has Arctic-Quilt lining and is water-repellent. It has a couple cool wind-resistant features, but the Extremes Active Jac beats it on wind-resistance overall. Plus, it lacks a standard hood. On the other hand, it is a little longer than the Extremes Active Jac, which means it will insulate more of your body.
- J130 Carhartt Sandstone Active Jac features Quilted-Flannel, which is one of Carhartt’s two warmest linings. If the Arctic-Quilt lining (which is made of nylon and polyester) is too slippery of a texture for you, then go with this one. It won’t perform against wind like the Extreme Active Jac, but it’ll still insulate well, has a hood, is water resistant, and seals in body warmth with ribbed cuffs and waistband.
Decide which is right for you.
NEW in 2019! The new version of the J130 got a few upgrades. Instead of flannel, it has 3M Thinsulate insulation, and so many more improvements. It’s an even stronger contender!
