Orphaned Alpaca Goes Viral

An orphaned baby alpaca owned by one of Murdoch's cashiers in Casper, Wyoming, is making a splash in national news

Murdoch’s cashier Tory Augustine and her newborn alpaca have become an internet sensation. They are quickly making the headlines on a variety of national news websites, including a Texas news outlet and hlntv.com.

We, of course, love the story the local news station put together. The video above is from KCWY13.com. Thanks for featuring this baby addition to the Casper-Evansville Murdoch’s team!

When Murdoch’s store manager Shelly Schneider told Tory it was ok to bring her orphan alpaca to work, it didn’t seem too out of the ordinary. After all, we are a ranch supply store, and our customers are always welcome to bring their friendly animals in for a visit.

As the video explains, the mama alpaca gave her life to her baby. An orphaned alpaca needs to bottle feed every two hours. It’s never easy to say good-bye to an animal you love, but sweet little Kathy gives us a new reason to smile. Plus, our customers absolutely love meeting baby farm animals.

If you’re in the Casper, Wyoming, area and are hoping to meet baby Kathy, please know she is temporarily making appearances during Tory’s shifts. No guarantees she’ll be there when you are; however, feel free to call the Casper-Evansville store to find out a good time to visit.
