We hung our sign in Columbia Falls. Where will we go next?
We’ve been busy lately! A few short weeks ago, Murdoch’s opened a new store in Fraser, Colorado, and we’ll open soon in Columbia Falls, Montana. Where are we going next?
Well, since you asked, the next Murdoch’s new store is coming to Salmon, Idaho!
A town of 3,300 residents in the heart of Central Idaho’s mountains, Salmon is a beautiful community and one that Murdoch’s is excited to soon call home. It will become Murdoch’s only current store in Idaho.
Murdoch’s signed a lease with a local landlord to occupy the former Alco store at 520 Shoup Street, just 5 blocks west of Saveway Market.
“Until now, Lemhi County has been out of reach for us,” said Rick Ungersma, Murdoch’s President and CEO. “The opportunity to lease an empty building meant we could get there. Now we’re really looking forward to making a positive contribution to the Salmon business community and to the lives of folks in Lemhi County.”
At 33,000 square feet, the building is roughly an average Murdoch’s footprint and sits on 4.5 acres.
Building improvements and renovations are planned to begin in January with a goal of opening early in second quarter of 2016.
Salmon is approximately 90 miles south of Hamilton, Montana, on Highway 93. The Hamilton Murdoch’s is geographically the closest existing location to Salmon.
“We’re thankful to the customers who have made the trip to our stores in Hamilton and Missoula,” Ungersma said. “But, we’ll save you the trip, though, starting as soon as we can.”
