Fashion Tips from Stephanie Quayle

Looking for style inspiration? Look to country music artist Stephanie Quayle. She has quickly become one of Murdoch’s favorite fashion influencers with an ability to make just about any piece of clothing her own, which is why we’ve sponsored her as Murdoch’s Music Brand Ambassador. Stephanie is a Montana native who knows how to make an impression on the stage and around town with the perfect balance of rock star sparkle and kindness in her heart.

She picks monthly favorites from Murdoch’s clothing selection and offers customers tips for styling the items just right. Here are six fashion tips from Stephanie Quayle. Don’t forget to view her picks.

Describe your fashion style in 5 – 10 words.

Western-modern with a red bandana accent and cowboy boots. I don’t go anywhere without my boots, bolos and buckles!

Where do you get your style inspiration from?

Instagram is a great place to see new ways to wear pieces.  I am definitely inspired from seeing new styles from all of my traveling, too.  I love reinterpreting an old piece into something new. That’s why I never throw any clothes away… I just keep restyling them over and over again.

What are two staples you just can’t live without?

A great fitting jean and my boots. Jeans are the everyday tuxedo! They work for every occasion – you can dress them up or down. My boots… they keep me grounded… remind me of where I come from and who I am.

What one item is OK to splurge on? What item do you always go budget on?

I’ll splurge on a piece with turquoise… There’s nothing like the real thing. I tend to budget on tops. I’ll go check out the high end versions of different tops and find what is making it pop, then I’ll go find the less expensive version!  A lot of times if I wear a piece on stage once, I won’t wear it again on stage. I definitely like to be budget smart about those pieces.

If you could play your ultimate show tomorrow with one person/band, who would it be? Where would it be? What would you wear?

I would be next to Dolly Parton at the Opry and I would wear rhinestones, sequins and the biggest smile of all time! Let’s just say I would pull out all the stops. Maybe even rhinestone boots!

What was your latest favorite Murdoch’s find?

I love the Angie Red Printed Kimono! This has been a fun style to play with on tour this summer. The Kimono is an easy piece, throw on and go! AND… I have my eye on a new Montana Silversmiths bolo… I want them all. I have a bolo problem.
