Fringe is a fall fashion trend that we love at Murdoch’s.
Just like anything else, to do it right, you have to wear it in the right places at the right times. We pulled a few examples from our 2015 Fall Clothing Look Book models to give you some direction and ideas as to how you might want to pull fringe into your look this autumn.
REENA
One bold clothing piece with prominent fringe is all a rancher like Reena really needs. Take this long-fringed suede jacket by Ariat, for example. It has a classic, feminine shape for a timeless look. But one bold item is enough – let it be bold – because adding more fringe to this already statement-look could soon start to resemble a costume.
KENDRA
To pull off Kendra’s look, try one statement accessory that features fringe, and look for smaller, subtle ways to hint at it in the rest of your outfit. Her fringe-tasseled ankle boots are a perfect example of how to incorporate that extra little bit of fun. A metallic fringe necklace is another good option, especially if you like the look, but want a piece with muted shine.
ANNE
Anne’s style is laid-back, relaxed, and heavy on basics like casual denim and cozy sweaters. We like this black faux leather fringe purse for Anne. The color, shape, and hardware blend easily into her predictable wardrobe, but the fringe is quite unexpected. We wouldn’t recommend multiple fringed accessories at the same time in Anne’s case, but on a casual skinny jeans day she could definitely rock suede moccasins with ankle fringe; they’re comfortable and cozy, plus they spruce up basics quickly.
