If you really want to dig into the weeds, we’ve provided Carhartt’s official statement on warranties below; but, in all honesty, when you read it you aren’t going to get a yes or no answer to the question, “Are Carhartt products under warranty?”

Since all apparel has an expected service life, this commitment does not cover damage caused by normal wear and tear (including zippers and other hardware), misuse, neglect, or obvious abuse of the garment. Carhartt, Inc. assumes no liability for garments that have had alterations, embroidery, or other ornamentation added to the garment.”

Carhartt’s warranty statement says that they do everything possible to ensure that there are no manufacturer defects, and that if you somehow got an item that has one, they’ll take care of you on a case by case basis. In our experience, they are incredibly reasonable folks.
Frankly, our experience as a dedicated Carhartt retailer (the only three-time winner of Carhartt’s retailer of excellence award) is that there is very little need for a standard warranty because their products really are that dependable. It’s almost as if they don’t have a standard X-number-of-years warranty because that would somehow suggest that they anticipate having problems, which they decisively do not.
Unfortunately, the Carhartt warranty statement leaves our new customers in a bit of a grey zone, and we need to earn your trust. It’s nice to have a yes or no answer. We get that.
So, here’s the deal: Murdoch’s stands behind all of the products we sell, whether they’re made by Carhartt or anyone else. Here’s our return policy. Bottom line: if you get a defective item, we waive your return shipping fee.
