5 West Slope RV Sites for a Honda Generator

Honda EU3000IS1AIt’s the time of year when the road beckons. Your otherwise peaceful RV is restless, ready to hit the open road. Colorado’s West Slope is an ideal landscape for RV enthusiasts, offering epic landscapes and easy access to a multitude of attractions and activities:

Colorado National Monument, Grand Mesa, Moab (world-class mountain biking), McInnis Canyons National Conservation Area, river rafting, a wide variety of fishing options, wineries (over 18 in the Grand Junction area), dinosaur excavation sites, Gunnison Gorge National Conservation Area… and more!

When you hit the road, don’t forget your trusty Honda generator. Touring the West Slope, your Honda generator will love accompanying you and your family to the five West Slope RV sites highlighted below!

Option 1 - RV Ranch

RV Ranch (Clifton, CO): Nestled on the Western Slope in picturesque Clifton, CO, this destination offers both short and long-term rentals, and is only five miles outside Grand Junction. Onsite amenities include swimming pool, abundant shade trees, playground, internet access, propane, a cafe and store.

The nearby Grand Valley boasts over 18 wineries! After a day of site-seeing and travel, your Honda generator will love it, helping you set a romantic mood under the stars. Break open a couple bottles of wine from your day at the vineyards with some music and possibly some fairy lights. With or without the comfort of a portable gazebo, this is the perfect way to end a day. Voila!

Option 2 - Junction West

Junction West RV Park (Grand Junction, CO): Just west of Grand Junction, this park offers extra wide pull-through sites with plenty of room for slide-outs and tow vehicles.

Other amenities include: bathrooms with tiled showers and private dressing areas, air-conditioned laundry facilities, free WiFi, secure boat storage, splash-pad water feature, convenience store and new playground.

Your Honda generator will love it because it’s spacious! Extra space means extra possibilities!

Option 3 - Kings Riverbend

Kings Riverbend RV Park & Cabins (Montrose, CO): Just south of Montrose, this is a best-kept-secret RV park. Quiet and off the highway, this area offers great fly fishing on adjacent Chipeta Lake and the Uncompahgre River.

Other amenities include: Riverside sites, extra-large sites for “BIG” rigs, luxury park model cabins with kitchens on the river and WiFi. This area also offers world-class 4 wheeling and mountain bike trails that start near the park!

Your Honda generator will love it because it’s quiet (just like your Honda generator) AND there’s lots to do!

Option 4 - Monument RV Resort

Monument RV Restort (Fruita, CO): Located in charming Fruita, this RV park offers all the amenities: pool and hot tub, free cable TV, free WiFi, BBQ grills, horseshoe pits, playground, and dog run area.

In addition to Fruita’s charming small town atmosphere, it is also a dinosaur-lover’s haven. The Dinosaur Journey Museum exhibits fossils, skeletons and robotic reconstructions as well as a “quarry site” where children can uncover actual Jurassic dinosaur bones! Also, at nearby Riggs Hill, self-guided tours of dinosaur excavations are offered.

Your Honda generator will love it because… Your junior archaeologists may want to set up their own “excavation tent” to house their findings. For inspiration, they can enjoy their favorite dinosaur movies within the excavation tent, fueled by your trusty Honda generator.

Option 5 - North Fruita Desert BLM

North Fruita Desert Campground (Fruita, CO): If the above options strike you as too comfortable or not enough of a challenge, try the North Fruita Desert Campground. The camping site fee is minimal, but the site offers no water, no shade shelters, no garbage services and NO ELECTRICITY.

But you don’t go to this campground for the amenities; you go for its location at the heart of the mountain bike trail system!

No electricity? No problem! Your ever-reliable Honda generator will love it because it’s an adventure!

Now I Just Need a Honda Generator.
